What Hoppa is, how it works and where to start

Hoppa is an AI-powered data refinery for engineering, construction and asset management organisations. It reads your technical documents, such as drawings, specifications, reports and invoices, classifies them against your information standard, and extracts the details you need into structured, reviewable results.

You do not need technical knowledge to use it. These docs explain how to use the Hoppa web app at app.hoppa.ai, which guides you through setting up a standard, bringing in documents, running the analysis and using the results.

What you can do with Hoppa

  • Classify documents against your own classification system or an industry standard such as Uniclass.
  • Extract values such as dates, references, quantities and costs from document content.
  • Tag documents with controlled values, such as discipline or document type.
  • Review and correct results in a spreadsheet-style table, with a certainty score for each AI-generated value.
  • Rename files using codes built from the results.
  • Export results as a spreadsheet, or write metadata back to the system the documents came from.

How Hoppa works

Every piece of work in Hoppa follows the same four stages. The User guide is organised around them.

Stage What happens Where in the app
Configure Define the workflow and the data standard: the classifications, search fields and tags you want for each document. A workspace's Refinery tab
Connect Bring documents into a session, by uploading them or connecting to a source system such as SharePoint. A session's Data sources
Classify Run the analysis, then review, edit and enrich the results. A session's Results page
Transmit Export the results or write them back to the source system. The Export menu on the Results page

How work is organised

Hoppa groups work into three levels: organisations, workspaces and sessions. A workspace holds the standard and workflow that its sessions use, and a session is where documents are connected and analysed. Organisations, workspaces and sessions explains this in more detail.
